S. Korea down Iran at 2024 Asian Women’s U18 Volleyball Championship
TEHRAN – Iran lost to South Korea in straight sets (25-10, 25-20, 25-11) in the 15th Asian Women’s U18 Volleyball Championship on Friday.
Iran are scheduled to play the winners of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan match in the 5th-8th place on Saturday.
Iran had started the competition on high note, beating the Philippines 3-0 in Pool B but lost to holders Japan 3-0 and Chinese Taipei 3-0 in the following days.
The flagship biennial championship, which got underway at Nakhon Pathom Gymnasium and Ratchaburi Gymnasium in Ratchaburi Province, serves as the Asian qualification for the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U19 World Championship, attracted 13 teams to vie for top honor.
Top four teams in the June 16-23 championship will qualify for the topflight world meet.
